Martin Luther King-Playdate

Whenever we get a postal holiday, we try to get together and make cards and spend the day together with friends. Jacki was our hostess this time and we had a great time! She made quiche, salad, and crusty bread for our lunch1 Wow, it was delicious! Diana and Nancy both had grandchildren dates, so couldn't make it and Deb wasn't going to either, but called last minute and said she was on her way. It was a wonderful, fun and laughter filled day as always. Here are some of the projects we made.Even though Nancy didn't come, she sent her adorable gift tag project with me so we could all make five snowman tags. Too cute! Sandra taught us how to quill and we made three lovely Valentine cards. Jacki had us using embossing paste with glimmery paper and some mica powders to do a technique called molten magic. Very cool effects! She also had us make paper fairy dolls using the Susan's Gardens dies. Cutie patootie! Deb didn't bring a project along as she wasn't planning to attend and good thing. We stayed until almost 6:30 p.m. LOL. I had them masking the embossed image and creating inky layers on a collage card, making snowmen treat-holders using the envelope punchboards, and making a masculine card using lots of Ranger, Tim Holtz, and dies. We had a blast! Hope the other gals can make it on President's Day.
