In our newly-named yahoo group, Altered, tattered, and timeworn, we are doing a 6 x 6 journal apge swap where the theme is butterflies. Decorate front and back and send to hostess and we will all get 11 pages back to make a Butterfly Journal. Must use at least one tim Holtz product. well, that was easy! Almost everything used was Tim's. For my back pages, I used Distress Markers to stamp with and spritzed them with water to create a watercolored effect over my stamped background page. The butterflies were then punched from the paper I use to protect my desk when I am working at it and then randon background stamps over them after I punched them. Hope they all like my pages. looking forward to getting them back!
Waiting for my brand new cartridge to arrive that was just released exclusively for CTMH called Artfully Sent. It is an amazing cartridge for card-makers. I was the hostess this month, so got to set up at home instead of hauling everything out. Nice! Here are the cards I made for them to see and they all made the Rainy Day set card. I was inspired by Brenda Rose and loved how the boots really look like rubber boots using the Liquid Glass on them. So cool! i used my hostess benefits to order the new cartridge as a half-price deal. Even at full price, it's a steal with almost 700 images on it, 3 sets of stamps, and a full pack of cardstock. The stamps and cardstock are a $75 value, so that makes the cartridge only $24!

Congratulations to my baby girl, Savanna for graduating from the Aveida Institute in Minneapolis, Mn. She still has 5 or 6 weeks to go to fulfill her hours needed to take her state boards to get licensed but the school portion is over. She was one of four chosen to speak at the ceremony, two from the morning class and two from the afternoon. It was a nice ceremony and we are so proud of her! Now for her to just get a job at a top-end salon up there!

Here is my new dresser to store a lot of my Close To My Heart products in. I started with a $10 dresser I got at a garage sale last year and put in garage and left it there with big plans in my head. LOL Haven't we all done that! Anyway it was that shiny sticker finish with wood-grain pattern on it but nice and solid piece. I used a good primer on it and then painted it black satin for a washable surface. It took several coats to cover without streaking but got it done. i used the Mod-

Well, I never did get my project finished for the second challenge, but here is what I made for the Faux Tea Roses, found on page 65 of Tim's book, volume 3. This one is sponsored by our friends at Inspiration Emporium. You can find all the goodies you need to make anything from Tim's books! They have a great shop.i had a good time making this and used Wendy's embossing paste colored with Fired Brick Distress re-inker for my bricks through her stencil. Wow, what fun that is! And what results! I die cut some greenery from a couple of my favorite leaf dies I have had forever and used some chocolate leaf ribbon I bought a couple years ago and have been hoarding. I am determined to start using some of my stash or giving some away or both! You can join in on this challenge and all of them here on Lnda's blog.

Once again the wonderful and talented Linda Ledbetter has challenged us to work our way through the king of art himself, Tim Holtz's third book. The first challenge is found on page 43, Paint Marbling. Sorry, I can't tell you how to do the technique, you have to buy your own copy of the book to play along. If you order it from Tim's blog, he will sign it for you! Sweeeeeet! This challenge is sponsored by Inspiration Emporium. You can buy all the latest and greatest art supplies there. Go have a look. To join in the challenge, go to Linda's blog here. i have been feeding and watching my feathered friends return from the horrible long Wisconsin winter we endured this year. I kept my tag very simple so as not to cover up the technique too much and had to use the bird and nest on it. I used a fw of Wendy's Archival colors also along with my distress.
